Finding My Rhythm Again

Being a mom is my full-time job, and I mean full time. There are no sick days, no scheduled breaks, no such thing as “clocking out.” It’s early mornings, snack negotiations, and endless curiosity.

But there’s another part of me too, the creator, the strategist, the business-minded woman who loves helping brands tell their story online. So, alongside motherhood, I’ve stepped back into work as a part-time digital contractor… and it’s been a journey.

My Workday

My schedule doesn’t look like the traditional workweek anymore. Instead, my productivity thrives in windows that open and close without warning. My toddler has never been a great napper, but I’ve been able to sneak in some working hours here and there. Most times it is late evenings when the house finally relaxes. Sometimes when my daughter plays happily beside me… for five whole minutes.

Some days I surprise myself with how much I can get done. Other days, the to-do list waits while I build block towers or clean yogurt off the dog. And that’s the balance I’m learning to embrace.

The Struggle Is Real

There are moments of doubt: Am I doing enough? Can I really juggle both? Will clients understand that my office sometimes looks like a living room floor?

And yet, the answer keeps proving itself to be yes.

I may not have eight uninterrupted hours to work, but I bring focus, efficiency, and passion to the hours I do have. I’ve become a master of:

  • Time-blocking tiny windows

  • Planning content while stirring dinner

  • Strategizing late evenings

  • Getting more done in 90 minutes than I used to in a full afternoon

Motherhood has sharpened my priorities, and surprisingly, my productivity too.

Why I Choose to Keep Working

I love my daughter more than anything. And I also love the feeling of helping a business find its voice online. Creativity fills my cup. Strategy sparks excitement. Watching a client grow? That’s the cherry on top.

I don’t need to choose one identity over the other. I’m both a full-time mom and a part-time social media professional.

Each role makes me better at the other. My work gives me pride and purpose beyond parenting. My daughter shows me how to slow down, stay playful, and find inspiration in simple moments. These are all skills that make content better.

Building Work Around Life

When I take on a new client or project, I’m choosing something that fits this season of my life. Something flexible. Something meaningful. Something I can give my best to, even if my “office hours” include snack breaks.

I may not always look like what a typical contractor looks like, but I show up. I care deeply. And I deliver intentional, creative, results-driven content.

Redefining My Own Version of Success

Right now, success doesn’t look like hustle culture. It looks like:

  • Scheduling content in the quiet moments

  • Celebrating client wins from my kitchen table

  • Learning, adapting, and growing at my own pace

  • Doing work that matters, without missing the moments that matter most

For every parent navigating their own version of this dual-life balance: you’re doing incredible. You’re allowed to be proud of both the caregiver and the creative inside you.

I’m full-time mom, part-time social media pro and 100% committed to both.
